11:00: Light Breakfast
11:00 — 11:30: Mission and Goals of DLAAB. We thought it would be a good idea to spend time exploring the mission and goals of DLAAB and establishing an 18 month plan.
11:30 — 12:00: Steve Carson from MIT/Open Courseware Consortium (OCC). Steve will discuss the opportunities available to schools interested in the OCC, how to go about joining and/or getting support for joining. DLAAB member will be invited to a more in-depth discussion from 1:30 — 3:30. This session is intended to wet people's appetite for Steve's more detailed presentation, bring people up to speed on OCW issues as well as answer questions.
12:00 — 12:20: Establish sub-group to work on 18 month plan for DLAAB.
12:20 — 12:45: BTOP1 and BTOP2 Proposal Presentation. NJEDGE will discuss the Broadband Technology Opportunity Program Proposals (part of Obama's stimulus package for broadband)
12:45 — 1:30: Lunch
1:30 — 3:30 (approximate end date): Steve Carson presentation on the OCC. This will be open to all NJIT faculty as well as other off campus groups. The focus will be on how faculty can participate, some of the benefits, concerns and suggestions. Time will also be spent exploring the creative commons licensing options.
