NJEDge.Net

NJEDge.Net, a non-profit corporation of the New Jersey Presidents' Council, is a broadband statewide network infrastructure designed to enhance the missions of instruction, research and public service of New Jersey's colleges and universities. The range of capabilities, resources and services offer economies of scale, provide expanded opportunities for integrating emerging technologies, and promote new forms of inter-institutional collaboration. This private, statewide infrastructure effectively "raises the bar" for high performance data and video capabilities across the state's three LATA boundaries and extends the reach of higher education to off-campus learners, K-12, corporate and community constituents. The New Jersey Virtual University, an integral part of NJEDge.Net, will demonstrate how the state's colleges and universities are fully integrating technology to meet workforce training and education requirements, as well as the needs of a steadily growing number of high school graduates, and adults seeking lifelong learning opportunities. The institutions are building on the state's wealth of academic and high-tech corporate resources to move New Jersey to the forefront of technology-mediated education The Educational Activities Task Force is responsible for identifying and facilitating activities and events that address the institutional-wide interests of a broad range of audiences on The impact of technology on academic and administrative environments.

The Adaptive Technology Center

The Adaptive Technology Center for New Jersey Colleges at The College of New Jersey is funded by the NJ Commission on Higher Education to connect college students who have disabilities with appropriate technology tools. Specialized software, hardware, and assistive devices can assist college students with the tasks of notetaking, reading, writing papers, taking exams, accessing information on the internet, using email, and communicating with faculty. The Adaptive Tech Center provides information and training on these technology tools and operates a lending program for all colleges and universities in New Jersey.

The Mid-Atlantic Regional Technology in Education Consortium (MAR*TEC)

The Mid-Atlantic Regional Technology in Education Consortium (MAR*TEC) serves to increase the technology integration knowledge and skills of educators. To this end, MAR*TEC disseminates information, provides professional development, conducts needs assessments surveys, and through its research arm identifies emerging issues. We work closely with state education agencies as well as local education agencies.
