Ronald Jantz is the Digital Library Architect at Rutgers University Libraries and Head of the Scholarly Communication Center. Ron is currently focused on developing the architecture for the institutional repository at Rutgers – the Rutgers University Community Repository. His research interests relate to digital libraries, digital preservation, and object life cycle management. Recent projects include the New Jersey Digital Highway, the New Jersey Environmental Digital Library, and Eagleton Public Opinion Polls.
Before beginning his career as a librarian, Ron worked at AT&T Bell Labs (now part of Alcatel-Lucent) where he was a software developer and manager in the Business Communications division. His educational background includes an MA in mathematics from the University of Michigan, an MLS from Rutgers University, and he is currently working on his PhD in information science at Rutgers.
