CIO / Executive Team Special Dinner Event

(By invitation only)

The Annual NJEDge.Net Conference is hosting a special executive team dinner event, Wednesday November 2, 2005. CIO's are invited to bring their executive colleagues to explore the delivery and promise of business processes in higher education. We have crafted a unique program designed to stimulate critical thinking, explore developing trends and facilitate planning for institutional resources in these fast-changing times.

Our program will feature Dr. Robert Kvavik, Associate Vice President, University of Minnesota and Senior Fellow, EDUCAUSE Center for Applied Research.

A short biography of Dr. Kvavik can be found here.

Dr. Kvavik will speak on his latest Educause study titled, "Good Enough! IT investment and business process performance in higher education."

What return has higher education received for its sizeable investment in improving its business processes? Further, have all the gains been wrung out of administrative process improvements or are there higher levels of process performance that can and should be attained? And are there additional gains to be had from existing technology and how can they be harvested? The answers are based on quantitative and qualitative survey data provided by 335 higher education institutions in the US and Canada.

In addition Leslie Maltz, Deputy VP for IT Planning and Standards, Columbia University will guide our discussion following Dr. Kvavik's talk.

A short biography of Leslie Maltz can be found here.

This dinner program is an excellent opportunity for today's university executives who are facing major academic, fiscal, and cultural challenges in meeting the needs of today's students. Senior staff will have the opportunity to engage in discussion with national experts and colleagues to gain insight into fast-moving national trends and learn what others are doing to create a vital campus in a climate of restricted resources.

This event is by invitation only and open to each CIO and up to 2 members of the executive team per institution. There is no charge for this evening of dining and open discussion.

Earlier on Wednesday will be preconference workshops. Our formal conference begins the following morning and will include our fourth CIO Leadership Summit for those CIO's attending the conference. Any guest wishing to stay over and attend the main conference can register through our web site for the two-day conference.

The dinner is scheduled for 6:00 - 9:00 pm at the Harrison Conference Center at 900 Scudders Mill Road in Plainsboro, NJ.
