ePoster: Real World Learning Objects in Science, Mathematics, and TechnologyJoshua Koen, Stevens Institute of Technology [bio]Learn how Real-World Learning Objects (RWLOs) are transforming teaching and learning at NJ community colleges through effective technology-based instruction. As a result of a hybrid professional development program, faculty have developed and incorporated RWLOs into their courses. This effort aims to infuse dynamic, research-based teaching methods--those that utilize Internet-based real world data--into the preservice education of NJ’s teachers in order to increase student interest and achievement in P-12 science and mathematics. It leverages resources developed through previous federal and state programs to train faculty and students to embrace and replicate these instructional approaches and student outcomes.
