ePoster: Effective Utilization of a Human Simulator in Large ClassesStephen P. McKenzie, UMDNJ, School of Health Related Professions [bio]In this project, 2 existing scripted patient presentations were adapted to use a human simulator. Simulator data was transferred from the hospital to the medical school via a V-Tel system. The sessions were facilitated by a hospital-based clinician and a basic scientist. Team-based Learning (TbL) was employed to direct student discussion. Forty-six students were the subjects. The rest of the class, 150 students, served as controls and used the paper-based conferences. Student subjective evaluations were assessed via questionnaires and knowledge base by examinations. This project was positively received by both the students and faculty, and has spurred interest in apply the format to other areas of the curriculum. Biography: Stephen P. McKenzieStephen P.
