Abstract

The OIT Learning Source - An Online Service for Faculty and Adminstrators

Montclair State University’s face to face workshops offered to our campus community are experiencing low enrollment due to our faculties and staff’s coursework, committee obligations, and administrative activities. This presentation demonstrates a distance-learning community exhibiting emerging technologies, instructional design and pedagogical strategies, simplifying administrative tasks within a self-paced atmosphere.

Biography: Suchita Choksi

Suchita obtained her BS in Construction Technology from India and a MS in Computer Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University. In her role as an Instructional Designer, she supports and mentors faculty in achieving their teaching and learning objectives through the use of technology. In addition, she evaluates and pilots new technologies as per University requirements and goals. She's a first time to-be mom and is eagerly awaiting the arrival of her baby.

Biography: Patricia Kahn

Patty obtained a BS in Computer Information Systems and an MBA in Finance from Manhattan College. Her research interests include assisting faculty with the integration of technology into professional development, classroom management and teaching, web design, instructional design, and distant learning. In her free time, she enjoys being with her family and friends and directs the children's choir at her church. Patty is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Instructional Design at Capella University.

Biography: Courtney Volpe

Courtney Volpe has her B.A. in Arts from Rutgers University. She has over 15 years of experience in the field of Training and Technology and is responsible for Instructional Technology Training at Montclair State University.
