Abstract

Honoring Student Voices through Performance Based Poetry

Matthew Conforth, Passaic Valley Regional High School and NJEdge [bio]

Students from the Bronx who have been participating in a Federal Arts in Education grant project called POETRY Express and students from Passaic Valley Regional High Schoool (PVRHS)who have recently adopted the program for use at their school will demonstrate their original poetry, performance techniques, and evaluation in a videoconference. The program is a collaboration of NJEDGE.net, the Bronx School District, PVRHS, Montcair State University, Passaic County Community College, and other NJ higher ed institutions.

Biography: Matthew Conforth

Matt is currently the Director of Educational Technology at Passaic Valley Regional High School and co-chair of the NJEDge K20 Initiative.
