Mike Gergel & Chris Miles Mike Gergel, Director of Information Protection and Security, Rutgers University Data Breaches and E-Discovery - Biography Mike Gergel is the Director of Information Protection and Security at Rutgers University. He leads the efforts in the areas of information security threat detection and management, awareness, incident response and supporting customer and regulatory obligations including the Gramm Leach Bliley Act (GLBA), New Jersey Identity Theft Protection Act, and the Payment Credit Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Requirements. In addition to his current position at Rutgers, Mike has held senior information security positions at Fortune 500 companies, where he was responsible for the establishment and implementation of information security programs and controls. Mike completed his BA in Computer Science at LaSalle University, and also earned a MBA from Philadelphia University. Mike holds the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from ISC2.
