Abstract Students Living Ethically and Safely in a Digital World Session III, Friday 8:00 - 9:00 Lynn Braender, Academic Computing Advisor and Assistant Professor, School of Business, The College of New Jersey Craig Kapp, Assistant Director of User Support Services, The College of New Jersey The world is emerging into one where student work, learning, and socializing occur in cyberspace. As they enter this new space, their values and behaviors are being tested; their reactions require new responses. At The College of New Jersey, we have created an online learning environment where students can learn about cyberspace, its potential dangers, and ways to protect themselves and their community. But students are not passive learners in this environment. They have the ability to influence content, determine the importance of materials and discussions, and shape the way we act. Students not only learn, they also create knowledge.
