WHEREAS, Joseph B. Sauder was an outstanding member of the Higher Education community who dedicated his personal and professional life to the advancement of higher education in the State of New Jersey, and

WHEREAS, Joseph B. Sauder served with distinction as a member of the New Jersey Intercampus Network (NJIN) Board of Trustees and the NJ EDge.Net Network Advisory Board, and

WHEREAS, Joseph B. Sauder's dedicated efforts made significant contributions toward the creation of a state-wide higher education network by contributing extensively of his time, energy and expertise in the planning, design and evaluation of the new higher education network, and

WHEREAS, Joseph B. Sauder further exhibited his concern for the importance of the role of technology in higher education by enthusiastically presenting numerous seminars and programs to wide acclaim, and

WHEREAS, Joseph B. Sauder, through his kind and gentle manner, provided outstanding leadership in serving as the founding chair of the NJIN Video-Resources Group (VRG);

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees of NJIN and the Advisory Board of NJ EDge.Net:

      1) express deep appreciation on behalf of the colleges and universities in the State of New Jersey for his many years of exemplary service that helped shape the landscape of electronic communication in higher education in New Jersey;

      2) express deep appreciation for his vision, commitment and dedication to the mission of NJIN and NJ EDge.Net and direct that a copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Joseph B. Sauder.
