Verizon Offerings


Verizon Voice Long Distance Service for subscribing member institutions

The New Jersey President's Council has approved the addition of voice long distance to the list of services available through NJEDge.Net. We have formally added this service to our Master Services Agreement with Verizon as originally planned in our RFP. This offering allows subscribing member institutions to migrate from current contracts with Verizon or initiate a new agreement with Verizon for voice long distance. Through the collective buying power of NJEDge.Net subscribing members, significant discounts are available. As our volume grows, additional discount thresholds will be reached. Subscribing members can opt to purchase switched or dedicated facilities based on individual calling patterns. For privacy reasons, member institutions will deal primarily with Verizon when planning or ordering these services. For issues related to billing documents, customer service or repair, members will deal with Verizon directly. NJEDge.Net will be coordinating the initial order paperwork and will be available to work with any member upon request to assist with any concerns or issues that may arise.

Verizon Pricing for NJEDge.Net subscribing member institutions
Verizon's International Rates for both switched and dedicated facilities.
Verizon's 3 Year Pricing for switched and dedicated facilities and flat rate PRI.
* The $300 monthly charge for the PRI covers only the cost of a dedicated outgoing facilty from the member's telephone system to the LD point of presence. It does not include the Centrex DFT interface or the cost of a PBX card.

LD Ordering Procedure: To begin the ordering process, a representative of the subscribing member institution must first contact Brian Gately. The member will then work directly with Verizon to decide what option is best for the anticipated traffic. Once you have decided on the right plan(s), notify your Verizon rep and Brian Gately of your decision with a time frame for installation. Brian will coordinate the necessary paperwork with Verizon to process your request. Based on your requirements, one or more authorizations will require signatures. Please include in your request any special instructions such as bill address info or critical issues that may require extra attention. Verizon will acknowledge the approved request and provide a firm date for installation.

Verizon Cellular Service for staff and faculty at subscribing member institutions (institutions that currently subscribe with circuits into NJEDge.Net)

The New Jersey President's Council has approved the addition of cellular service to the list of services available through NJEDge.Net. This offering allows members to immediately convert an existing VerizonWireless account or establish new service and realize a 15% discount under our consortium employee plan. Unlike our other programs, this is geared to the individual user of subscribing member institutions (institutions that currently subscribe with circuits into NJEDge.Net) and the discount is available without any minimum contractual commitment by NJEDge.Net or the President's Council.
Eligible accounts must meet a $35.00 minimum and the discount is only applicable to the first service line on a family account.

Cellular Ordering Procedure

Eligible members should fax the Employee User Agreement form. to 973-829-7649 with two forms of ID (one needs to be a photo one such as a school id or drivers license) and the other can be a business card, pay stub with earnings and SSN# crossed out or the two picture ids, they should wait 3 or 4 business days and then contact VerizonWireless customer service on 800-922-0204. The representative will be able to tell you when the discount was added.
If the discount wasn't added, please call Kathy Coyle on 973-829-7636 to confirm that she received your paperwork.
