About Marratech
Marratech is a total cross-platform web conferencing solution with free client software for Windows XP / 2000, Mac OS X, and Linux users. This user guide is for all users. Marratech works basically the same on all platforms.
What do I need to run Marratech?
Computer requirement: On Windows, the Marratech client software requires a 1GHz PIII processor along with Windows 2000 or XP (Pro and Home editions) along with a minimum of 512 MB of ram. Frequent users are recommended to use Windows 2000 or XP.
On the Mac, the Marratech client requires a G4 processor along with Mac OS 10.3 or higher along with a minimum of MB of ram. For more complete details

A web camera and a headset: On Windows, Marratech recommends the use of USB web cameras such as the
Logitech Quickcam fusion
or
Quickcam Notebook Pro. If you are running other Webcams that have no echo cancellation, then you will need a headset. Use of an analog headset such as the
Plantronics Audio40 is recommended.
On the Mac, Marratech recommends the use of the
Apple iSight firewire camera along with a USB headset such as the
Plantronics DSP-300. See

Marratech client software: If you do not have the Marratech client please
download and install the client.
NJEDge Marratech Account: You will need a NJEDge Marratech account to access any of the private rooms. If you do not have a NJEDge account please
request for one. You do not need an account to enter the Public rooms.
Getting Started Checklist

Check that your computer and network meets the
minimum requirements

Have you have installed your web camera and your headset? (Note: Some cameras have their own microphone) Are they plugged into your computer?

Have you downloaded and installed the
Marratech client software?

Have you
configured the Marratech client so that it is optimized for your environment?

Do you have a NJEDge Marratech account? (not needed for public rooms)
Joining a public room
You can join a public room by going to the
NJEDge.Net Marratech URL
and clicking on any of the public rooms available.

You do not need to login to enter the public rooms. The Marratech Client should automatically launch and put you into the public room.
Joining a e-Meeting room
You can join an E-Meeting directly by going to the E-Meeting URL with your regular browser (IE, Firefox, or Safari), logging in and simply clicking on the room you want to join. The Marratech Client should automatically launch and put you into the E-Meeting room. If Marratech Client is not loaded on the computer, Java Web Start technology included on the E-Meeting Server will prompt you to install the latest Marratech Client software (admin rights to your computer is required).
Once you have joined the desired room, the main Marratech client window will open to the Welcome Screen. Below is a basic overview of the Marratech Client.

After joining, press the camera button to let others see you. If you have something to say to others in the conference, press on the microphone button to speak.

How do I share powerpoints, images or other documents?
To share documents such as powerpoints or Word documents, please click on the 'Whiteboard' tab at the lower-left of your screen.

Once clicked you will be taken to the Whiteboard. The Whiteboard supports PDF (Mac OS X only), GIF, Animated GIF, JPG and PNG image file formats. To import a document, click on the File menu and then open and then select the type of document you wish to open as indicated in the figure below.
How do I browse websites collaboratively?
To tour website collaboratively click on the "Viewer" tab at the lower left of your screen. Enter the URL of the website you wish at the address bar and press enter. Check 'Enable Transmit' in the 'Slides' menu
Leaving an E-Meeting
Just go to -> File -> Leave from the Viewer or the Whiteboard. You will be prompted to save the Whiteboard documents from your e-meeting, Save them if you want, to your local computer.
