- The
IP precedence value for real-time video has been changed from 3 to 4
to conform with industry standards. So the recommended QoS values are
now as follows:
0 - Best Effort
1 - Priority Data
4 - Real-Time Video
5 - Real-Time Voice

- Stevens modified the default PIX configuration to disable the following
protocol fix-ups

-no fixup protocol h323 1720
As mentioned on the conversation call, it is not clear if the "no
fixup
protocol h323 1720" will be needed/required/modified when we start
the
use the gatekeepers.

January 13, 2003 NJEDge.Net members who are current
Verizon IDLS customers will receive a choice of one free video codec
per institution. Choices include a Miranda MAC 500IP, Polycom VS4000
or Polycom VSFX for customers with ATM circuits at 10 Mbps or higher,
and a Miranda MAC 100IP or Polycom VS4000 or VSFX for customers with
ATM circuits under 10 MBPS.

Transition Agreement for 6-Month Period of Free Service
January 15, 2003 NJEDge.Net member institutions that
are currently subscribers of Verizon's IDLS video service are eligible
to receive 6 months of free IDLS service during their transition over
to NJEDge.Net services. As part of Verizon's promotional offer for the
discontinuation of IDLS services, at the end of the six-month free period
IDLS services will be disconnected. Eligible institutions may individually
schedule the start of their free transition period by filling out the
form below and faxing it to the NJEDge.Net office. Multi-site campuses
are eligible for only one IDLS promotional offer. Transition periods
can begin immediately, but in all cases must be concluded no later than
June 30, 2004.
